PERSONAL HISTORY:
Herpo had always been interested in the Dark Arts ever since he was little, he was born as a parselmouth when his parents were, in fact, not parselmouths. The family thought the gift of hissing was strange and they feel to this day that his self experimentations and tutoring is what lead him to his estranged life. He'd always been around snakes and they'd always thought they would like something big enough to protect them, but Herpo always fell short. His childhood was full of disappointment and many failures of experimentations with potions, dark arts and herbology.

When he finally entered his teens, he'd become quick as one could imagine. He'd learn various charms, hexes and other strange magic upon reaching this age. His parents had no control over him and had given up trying to change him, eventually his experimentations created what we know as the Basilisk; the king of snakes. At first the snake was small and he cared for it and as the years came about, the snake never stopped growing. While it was naturally slow, it had became his very best friend and also his familiar. He'd spent all his time learning forms of magic that some would never imagine, this lead him to go slightly mad from it.

Upon maturing, he had no real friends and a large gigantic snake that he frequently set on people who didn't listen to him. That's how his first of many killings came about, it eventually stopped effecting him and he murdered his parents for trying to speak to him on their own behalf and worry. He'd became relatively short with his temper and couldn't help himself, when he realized that killing was simple for him it became a discrete hobby for him. Herpo started small killing sprees and leaving the bodies out in public places, he got an adrenaline rush from that.

That's when his paranoia began.

People started suspecting him and he wanted a way to stay safe. He eventually dabbled in the darkest magic of all; the horcrux. He made his own horcrux out of his father's pendant and kept the pendant on his Basilisk at all time. Once he'd been hunted down and killed for the first time, he lost the ability to care for his vicious, human hungry snake. When he could no longer take it, the Basilisk ate him for dinner and swallowed him hole.

Herpo died a tragic, painful death. He was unable to die due to the Basilisk wearing his pendant, but he couldn't breathe from lack of air and thus when the basilisk started having bodily problems due to his body not digesting, he hacked Herpo up and accidentally destroyed the horcrux he'd made and that caused the snake to die.

It'd taken weeks for Herpo to attempt life again, but he lived in the shadows and forest. He spent his long life in hiding and died peacefully.

PERSONALITY:
What's there to say about him, really? He's a strange person who never really made friends or many human contacts other than him and his Basilisk, Euric. He had a horrid temper and frequently is unable to show many emotions on his face, he only imitates and mocks things he'd seen on other people. Herpo, while weird, is extremely manipulative. One would not know it just by how he acts but he enjoys hurting others and hurting those that would be hurt by the actions alone. He tends to send his basilisk to do the dirt work while he'll sit back and think of a better idea.

Herpo is advanced as far as intelligent goes and everything he's learned was self taught, the book explaining horcruxes was, in fact, a book written by himself. He finds himself unable to relate to real human people and was left alone by his parents too long as a child. This created a sense of forced independence and his need to do things himself. They didn't take the caring hand they should have while he was a child, they opted to leave him be because he was awfully strange.

While he was good looking as a young adult, he found himself the affection of many women but he could not reciprocate the feelings due to his solitude. He's extremely quite and often takes to himself, he appears dangerous, crazy and quiet. He's your typical serial killer with a twist of magic, loss of emotional vocabulary and a large snake.

APPEARANCE:
Herpo is a gangly man with dirty blonde hair and yellow eyes. He usually stands with an air of uncertainty and frequently finds himself lurking more than being around. The man is incredibly handsome and holds himself always clean and as gentlemanly as he possibly could. One could describe him as regal in some was but he comes off being weird by his lack of normal facial expressions.

He dressed in clothes that fit him and appear to bring out his qualities as a person. He loves to attract people just for the sake of using them for his own gain, appearance is everything and he looks like someone who is impeccably neat.
